Description

I’m having a hard time following Bug #8404, Bug #8494, and understanding what is going on.

We prepared 1.2.2 to handle the change in CA and to prevent people to being displayed an error message on every boot. This seem to have failed as the new certificate has been deployed but we are still prompted with the error message on each boot, has reported repeatidely on front desk. So to my eyes, the release of 1.2.2 has been a failure.

What about removing its announcement from the news feed? At it promises things that are not true. At least… if not publishing something about that failure.

Marking as elevated as this is a regression :)

Right. Unless the problem can be solved server-side.

I’d love to see us do more testing as suggested on the relevant ticket, and also see if this can be fixed server-side, before we do that, but I personally won’t have time to work on it before ~January 2nd, so in the meantime, maybe what you’re proposing is the best we can do.

Deannouncing 1.2.2 would also mean publishing the ISO for 1.2.1 again, changing the side bar, etc.

So instead I proposed to explain the bug on news/version_1.2.2.

  • Status changed from Confirmed to Resolved

The SSL error in 1.2.2 is now fixed like stated in Bug #8404, so there is no more interest in removing the announcement I believe.

Closing this ticket.
