Description

We would like to create tails t-shirts. Torservers.net has a contact for printing t-shirts. We can also do it ourselves, spread around at geek events like the CCC.

To consider:

- Is there a budget? If so, how much? (try out)

- Spread only to core tails crew?

- Spread only to contributors?
- Sell at geek events like the CCC, Fosdem, Debconf?

Another possibility is to sell them on Internet, and not have to deal with it.

We had an internal debate about whether or not make t-shirts in the first place: the objectives of it, the mechanisms of sale, etc.

I won’t summarize everybody’s proposal in here (that would be to complex) but that needs more discussion.

As you won’t be able to act on this yourself, I’m not assigning this to you anymore.

Idea is postponed for now.

We’ve got another proposal for t-shirts:

https://mailman.boum.org/pipermail/tails-project/2014-December/000096.html

The idea here is that an external company would design, make, sell, and ship t-shirts that call for donations to Tails. With the original proposal we don’t do any money from the sell of the t-shirts, but that can be further discussed.

This is different from what we had considered so far, in the sense that we won’t have to deal ourselves with the selling and shipping of those t-shirts.

here is a short resume of our previous discussion about it: https://tails.boum.org/contribute/meetings/201404/#index5h1

Why not have this cooperation for T-shirts. Maybe if we get a small (5% ? 10% ?) part of the sells, and / or some T-shirts for free, to distribute.

In todays contributor meeting u volunteered to ask someone about the t-shirts

#9 Updated by juris 2015-08-05 15:37:50

I talked to u lately about this topic. She suggested me to renew my offer, As you know I’m doing the t-shirts for the Tor project. This includes design, production, storage and order fulfillment. This means that you just lean back and get your share. Of course you can also take a part of the t-shirt to sell them at events. As far I remember I already sent more details and a Tails design to u and dr_whax a year ago. Main points: The T-shirts are made of organic cotton and are fairly produced.

Unassigning this ticket from me. We need to find an internal conclusion if yes or no we want to accept juris’ proposal.

@redmineadmins, could you put juris as a contributor so we could assing this ticket to him if we find a positive conclusion to this please?

Thanks!

Done. Please ask tails@ (that all admins of our Redmine project read) instead next time, otherwise there’s little chance that anyone but sajolida or I acts on your request. Thanks in advance!
