Bug #17533
tails-gdm-failed-to-start.service gives confusing info on systems with 2+ GPUs
0%
Description
We see lots of reports flowing in (Bug #16875, Bug #17479) that are not actionable as-is because tails-gdm-failed-to-start.service
reports about the integrated GPU (typically Intel), while in most cases the discrete GPU (typically Nvidia or AMD) is used.
Ideally this service would be able to tell which GPU is used. Worst case, when there are multiple GPUs, perhaps it could display info about the non-Intel one, if any.

apparently starting tails 4.4.1 with a Acer Nitro AN515-54 ends up with the error starting gdm message but it lists the intel hd 630 and the nvidia gpu (“Nvidia corporation device [10de:1c91] rev1”)

I did some quick and hackish testing outside of Tails, and it looks like indeed, the 2 GPUs should be listed, as long as the name of the first one is not mega long. But I understand that the way the info is presented may lead users to miss the second GPU and report only half of the info we’re asking them.
