This can be reproduced by scrolling down this link

https://twitter.com/search?f=videos&vertical=default&q=cats&src=typd

first few search results will be fine but keep scrolling down and videos will crash and cant play them

I used 4.0 rc1 for this test but had this issue before

@intrigeri this has been resolved in 4.0

ticket was based on 4.0 rc1 and earlier so you can close this ticket if not needed further

@intrigeri #4 was a wrong comment sorry, it was meant for another ticket

this issue still exists in 4.0 and you can use the link above to test, keep scrolling and load more results, do this 3-4 times as fast as you can with hand movement

all video playing on the page will crash

I can reproduce this bug with pristine Tor Browser 9.0 on Debian sid.

@baxc, would you mind reporting this upstream (https://trac.torproject.org/)? Else I’ll ensure our Foundations Team does it.

In the browser console I see:

Unhandled promise rejection <unavailable> 5 13.video_player.en.3f52df782d1539fc483a.js:35:21458

If I disable uBlock on this page, then I see a slightly nicer error message (“This media could not be played”) and a reload button for each affected video. But clicking that button just brings me back to the same broken state.

I see nothing relevant in the Journal.

@intrigeri

I am not sure if this has been reported already upstream, if not I can create a ticket

has there been any updates regarding this issue with the team?

Hi @baxc,

> I am not sure if this has been reported already upstream, if not I can create a ticket

Please go ahead and mention that I could reproduce this with Tor Browser 9.0.1 on Debian sid as well :)

> has there been any updates regarding this issue with the team?

None that I’m aware of.

Thanks a lot!

I’m therefore closing this ticket as non-actionable on Tails’ side.
Let’s revert this if a workaround that we could apply gets discovered/documented upstream.

I lost access to b0ax0c user on tor but I can confirm that baxc on tor is mine and also https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/user_profile?user_id=650909 on mozilla

I created a ticket for this on mozilla bug tracker as well
