Feature #14954
Create a German glossary
0%
Description
This idea has been proposed several times, but nothing concrete has happened since then.
I’d like to have a German glossary/dictionary for (technical, but not exclusively) terms that are used in the context of Tails (and also Tor etc) for being used in texts we translate to German.
We have to be careful that we don’t do some “not invented here” things in terms of differing from upstream (or Tails specific applications like the Tails Greeter, Tails Installer, etc). If we have reasons to differ from upstream projects, we should communicate/coordinate with them and maybe propose improvements to upstream’s l10n’d applications and documentation.

Please also see the links to glossaries mentioned in Feature #6968.
Unfortunately the glossary we updated some years ago: https://www.transifex.com/otf/torproject/glossary/de/ is not publicly accessible (anymore?).

We actually mentioned those in our documentation: https://tails.boum.org/contribute/how/translate/team/de/ but we might want to have some Tails specific terms in such a Tails specific glossary (example: persistence). What do you think?
Don’t hesitate to assign this ticket to me for review & merge.
