Description

Starting 3.0~beta1 in libvirt/QEMU from a virtual USB stick, the main Greeter window is centered properly, but sometimes the window that opens when I click “+” is placed on the top left of the screen.

I realized while working on Bug #12241 that the parent parameter passed to the Add setting dialog was not used to make it transient for the main window. This issue should be fixed in greeter:feature/12247-replace-lists-of-if. If this branch cannot be merged on time for 3.0, I can backport the fix.

Feature #12247 was resolved, but I think I’ve seen the problem again, and anyway: since then Alan set Bug #12364 as the parent so I guess that means he agrees the problem is not fully fixed.

I haven’t seen this happening in 3.4. Has anybody else seen this happening (@goupille?) If not we might consider closing this ticket and reopening it if necessary.

Lowering priority as this does not make anything dysfunctional.

as far as we (the help desk) remember, this issue was not reported to us

I don’t think many people would report such “aesthetic” issues to help desk.

intrigeri, since I think you’re still using the same libvirt setup: is this still happening?

I’m not 100% sure but I think I’ve seen it recently.
