Well, intri suggested that, but I’m not so enthousiastic about working on it. On the other hand, it’s fairly simple, so I changed it to an easy ticket.

hi,
i don’t think its that simple- because the links to the mailinglist archives differ, which cannot be implemented with an inline text snippet, as far as i can tell. a solution would be to use a template, but that would mean to enable the template module for ikiwiki - i don’t know if this stands for it.
or am i missing something?

I’m a little bit surprised. Our download page has a few extreme usage example of the inline directive iirc. What exactly did you try?

If that’s needed, then I think we can go for it.

> I’m a little bit surprised.

I’m not. Everything we currently do takes for granted that the inline
text is the exact same of each page it is inlined from. Here the URL
should be different for each mailing list. I didn’t check again what the
template plugin does but if I remember correctly, that might be worth
trying.

While working on the Installation Assistant we considered using CSS
tricks to display alternate version of portions of the inlined text but
that doesn’t feel suitable for the problem at stake here.

We don’t have this text anymore and it was anyway too complicated to be worth it.
