Ok, here is my implementation of the last drawings by François. Please have a look.

It’s absolutely not polish, aligned, made consistent, etc. But it should be a good base for comments.

Here is a new version with a few minor improvements, after reviewing it with one user:

• Only display one USB stick when introducing them. There’s no need to have two and it was not clear what the black arrow meant.
• Display USB sticks horizontally. We found them nicer than the ones displayed with an angle.
• Get rid of the tiny whitespace between the USB stick and the laptop.
• Prefer arrows between the laptop and the USB stick over arrows behind the USB sticks.
• Remove smiley from temporary USB stick. It’s not yet the final one.

- I don’t really understand the lines in 5, 8 and 10. I suppose it’s to say that something unusal is happening on this key : it’s booting. But the screens after there is no more lines (and it’s running, it’s special too). I would remove lines or add lines in other pictures (more little, because it’s no more the center of the action).

- I would make square lines thinner.

- I’m wondering if we need an extra stop-step with the minimal Tails (like 4 and 11).

- Implementing in HTML, I used only: 1, 3, 7, 9 and 10, and make reboot more generic. But we can discuss the use off the infography later. Even if we don’t use on the pictures in the overview, maybe we’ll need them in the steps.

• The lines in 5, 8, and 10 came straight from the drawings of François. See /code/attachments/download/768/overview.jpeg. I only reused them. Know I made them green as they are part of the action and also added smaller ones on the other images.

• I made the square lines thiner, and the background purple darker as a consequence.

• Added another stop-step to make the difference between the minimal Tails and the Tails with persistent storage.

Close this ticket now. We did enough round-trips to have something correct. Users shall have the final word when we actually test it.

New version with special cases for clone and DVD scenarios.
