0%
Description
Hi!
I have a problem with wifi on my notebook.
Only fix is to blacklist asus-nb-wmi module.
As i can see, i can’t do it by my own, so i am posting that here.
Blacklisting that will help a lot of people dealing with Asus and linux.

Please try adding modprobe.blacklist=asus-nb-wmi
to the kernel command-line in the syslinux bootloader menu.

Thanks! It’s working.
You can add that in documentation for fixing Asus wifi. In bootloader add:
modprobe.blacklist=asus_nb_wmi, asus_wmi

I’ll add the line to add to the boot command, so that other Asus owners can have wifi.

OK. Please make it clear that it’s (most likely) only about specific Asus model, and should only be attempted when there’s an actual problem to solve.

hO2, could you please tell us the model (and maybe year) of your computer, so we can document the issue meaningfully?
