Could you explain a bit more about how this would affect the VPN FAQ?

I guess that’s because “Using a VPN to connect to Tor (VPN before Tor)” currently says “This is currently not possible using Tails”, which might be wrong (untested myself) nowadays thanks to the proxy support exposed by Tor Launcher.

But well, to use this support in Tails, in practice one needs to either set up their VPN software on Tails to escape our firewall restrictions (either by patching the firewall, or by having it run as e.g. the clearnet or debian-tor user), or to set up their VPN software on another system (e.g. on the LAN) => on the one hand, we can’t really say in the FAQ anymore that it’s impossible; OTOH, we can’t really say that it’s supported. That’s a tough one.

I don’t this we should bother about such a slight change around the technical possibilites of run a VPN in Tails.
