Description

A user reported not to be able to connect using an obfs4 bridge within Tails-1.3-rc1.

I wasn’t able to connect as well. But unfortunately I couldn’t get more than one such bridge to test.

Supposedly it worked during the preliminary tests of Tails-1.3-rc1, but still at least two users failed at that.

The one I used is:

obfs4 54.66.226.196:18965 95151988dc29fccb4f610a1c700a1ddf7d5ffbd4 cert=3wYo19iAMNbfO7snEeqVBmsIat+RMmMDV5BV4jDvXuz9BaACXt7XffC8Dz8J1MUvLKHKaQ iat-mode=0

And I just followed Tails documentation about how to set it up.

What happens exactly once you’ve entered the bridge?

Tor seems to start loading (the loading bar shows a little progress at first) then it hangs forever.

Reproduced with that bridge, seems like it’s down. But it works just fine with the obfs4 bridge we have in our manual test suite (I had pointed mercedes508 to that bridge, so no idea why I’m the one who tests this in the end; anyway). So, obfs4 support in Tails works, but at least one obfs4 bridge in the world is down => nothing we can do about it.

The bridge you pointed me at (which is in the comment #1) is the same I got from bridges.torproject.org.

Oooops, sorry! That’s a bug in our manual test suite. I obviously didn’t put the bridge address I wanted to in there.
Going to fix it right away. Thanks :)
