I think you’d do this better and using a lot less time, so yes. If there’s some suitable (in size) ticket for 2.0 you have on your plate, feel free to trade it to me (perhaps Bug #10841? I have a an Intel Broadwell box to test it on). If it’s too late, please reassign this ticket back to me.

I had a quick first look, and I think that what we want is essentially a Debian/Ubuntu version of these scenarios of our automated test suite:

  • “Installing Tails to a pristine USB drive”
  • “Upgrading an old Tails USB installation from another Tails USB drive”
