It could be a regression against pre-GNOME-Shell, but I’m not sure.

These are the times it takes from pressing Login in Tails Greeter until GNOME Shell shows the panels:

  • Qemu/KVM: 7.30 seconds
  • VirtualBox: 16.50 seconds

The rather big difference between these two is interesting. VirtualBox is perhaps in the “ages” region.

I see ~10 seconds on Tails 1.2, and ~13 seconds on current feature/jessie => closing. If you think something needs to be done about the VirtualBox situation, please file another, dedicated ticket.
