Description

It seems people with not enough knowledge doesn’t understand the jail of the Unsafe browser, and find it frustrating not to be able to access ‘Desktop images’.

Maybe https://tails.boum.org/doc/anonymous_internet/unsafe_browser/index.en.html can be updated with an easy explanation.

I don’t think that we should start documenting all the things that are not supposed to work with the Unsafe Browser; such a list would never be ending. I suggest that we instead add a clearer warning, in the Unsafe Browser doc, that nothing else than what’s explicitly documented on that page is supported. E.g. in the existing “The Unsafe Browser is not anonymous. Use it only to log in to captive portals” div.

I was thinking to explain about the jailed setup, and what it means… so people that doesn’t know about Linux or anonimity can understand it.

But yeah maybe is an overkill.

Actually, the main concern here is already explained on https://tails.boum.org/support/faq/#unsafe_browser.

Regarding documenting features only and not documenting non-features, I wouldn’t be as strict as intrigeri. I agree with refraining ourselves to create endless lists, but we are not there yet. And this is already mentioned in the FAQ, so it is a clear candidate for inclusion into the main doc.

I’m closing that bug anyway, as this is already documented in the FAQ.
