Description

As of Tails 1.1rc1 tails ship xul-ext-foxyproxy-standard 4.1-1 from experimental. This package prevent you to install icedove:

Installing icedove in Tails is not supported yet, so even if that’s a regression (which I doubt), we don’t care about it.

Note that we currently ship FoxyProxy for two reasons that could vanish:

  • directing .i2p URLs to the I2P proxy: will soon be dropped (Feature #7725)
  • having RFC-1918 URLs escape Tor: depending on how we deal with Feature #5340, it might not be needed anymore either; e.g. if we get ourselves a web browser dedicated to the LAN, or decide that the Unsafe Browser is now a supported solution to do that, and the only one
