Description

Once we take the fix for Bug #7285 (else Yelp simply crashes), that is with yelp 3.4.2-1+tails1, or on current sid, that is yelp 3.12.0-1:

  • clicking an anchor link opens Nautilus in the parent directory of the currently viewed HTML file
  • double-clicking an anchor link works fine
  • right click -> open link works fine
  • “right click -> open link in new window” works fine

With these two different versions of Yelp, exactly the same happens regardless of whether the HTML file was open with its absolute path, file:///absolute/path, or relative path.

Reported upstream, with a bit more info: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=731490. We could patch the offline website at ISO build time, to change the links to “anchor on the same page” to look like case 3 I’m describing there. Or have ikiwiki do the same somehow.

But I think I have another solution, that seems to work: moving back to iceweasel. Stay tuned.

AFAIK nobody is actively working on this currently.

We don’t use yelp anymore to browse local doc.
