I confirm this is a regression: on Tails 1.0, (at least) Arabic characters are displayed in Florence.
I’ve seen no such bug reported in the Debian BTS, nor on the upstream bug tracker.
#2 Updated by intrigeri 2014-05-26 05:07:56
- Subject changed from Non-european characters not displayed in Florence to Non-European characters not displayed in Florence
- Status changed from Confirmed to In Progress
- Assignee set to intrigeri
- Starter set to No
Unchecking “Use system font” in the Florence preferences fixes this at least for Arabic in 0.6.0-2~bpo70+1. There is no such setting in 0.5.1-1. Gonna report this to Debian, and apply the workaround in Tails.
