Feature #7123
Find a meaningful name for the "bridge, firewall, or proxy settings" option
50%
Description
It is really helpful to have a meaning full name to refer to the Tails Greeter options from other parts of the documentation (“MAC Spoofing” is a good example of meaningful name). I repeatedly felt the need to have a name for the “bridge, firewall, or proxy settings” option. In a similar way, if one day we provide an third option to disable networking it will be called “offline mode”.
Maybe “additional Tor configuration” or “special network configuration”? Probably referring to “Tor” is more precise than “network”.
Maybe having a little brainstorming on that would help…

June 2014 meeting: “Additional Tor configuration” almost reached a consensus, then “Tor
configuration” was proposed, and it did reach a consensus: while it
sounds like tor isn’t configured if you don’t open the option.
This which would be critical if it were in the first greeter screen,
but it’s in “More options”, which mitigates this problem somewhat.
Then “Specific Tor configuration” was proposed, which reached
a stronger consensus.

sajolida: We’ve found a consensus between the ones who attended the June meeting. If that’s fine with you, then I guess you’ll create a new ticket to implement this. Leaving it open in the meantime, so we don’t forget about it.
