Description

While doing this change some HTML code or HTML pages can be converted to markdown. Markdown is lighter to work with and more resilient to dead links.

Yes, I already converted many pages from HTML to Markdown but some are left.

A tricky thing is that whenever you change the original content of a page, the translations get fuzzy and disabled. So on top of that you have to rescue them. That’s why so far I was only doing that in addition to other changes on the page. But it’s possible to do it just for fun as well :)

Note also that in ikiwiki (or Markdown) once you included some content in a HTML tag, for example, inside a

then you have to write all HTML inside that tag, with

and all. So for example, on the Download page, unless we get ride of the

s, the content will still be mostly in HTML :(

For the few HTML pages that might still need convertion, let’s do this on a page by page basis when it makes sense and not as a dedicated ticket.
