Description

Our warnings page still says: “Do not rely on it for strong anonymity”.

Tor itself has dropped the “do not rely on it for strong anonymity” warning a while ago. I think the main reason why we had this warning is that we felt we had to mention it too, as long as Tor did.

Besides, there are plenty of alternatives out there, that are arguably worse than Tails in many respects, and that don’t display such scary warnings. It would be a shame to see people use these, instead of Tails, after concluding that they are safer than Tails and can be used for strong anonymity, based on this lack of a warning.

I think we should be bold and drop this warning in 1.0.

#1 Updated by intrigeri 2014-04-11 13:03:02

  • Assignee set to sajolida
  • Target version set to Tails_1.0
  • QA Check set to Info Needed

sajolida, if you agree with me, please either do it directly in the stable branch, or set Type of work = documentation and reassign to me. (Just dropping this sentence should not need a formal review’n’merge process IMHO, once we agree on a solution.)
