Description

https://tails.boum.org/doc/anonymous_internet/Tor_Browser/index.en.html#index5h1 and/or https://tails.boum.org/contribute/design/#index40h3 should explain that NoScript is shipped but desactivated by default, and explain why. It’s documented nowhere, and the question pops up often.

There’s an entry about this in the upcoming FAQ. Perhaps it should be
moved to doc/anonymous_internet/Tor_Browser, and the question in the
FAQ would link to it?

I added two sentences to the NoScript section in
/doc/anonymous_internet/Tor_Browser.mdwn with commit 8d79797:

“To allow more control over JavaScript, for example to disable
JavaScript completely, Tails includes the NoScript extension.”

“By default, NoScript is disabled and
some JavaScript is allowed by the [[Torbutton|Tor_Browser#javascript]]
extension as explained above.”

As the JavaScript setup was already partly documented and translated on
this page, I opted for not merging with the FAQ as my patch fixes that
bug while breaking less translations.
