I’ve used iodine a bit years ago. I was ultra dead slow, especially when adding Tor on top of it. Like several minutes to start Tor or something like that… and even more to download my emails, not talking about browsing the web.

My personal experience is that I stopped being a need due to “open” Wi-Fi hotspots becoming more common, smartphones and mobile data becoming cheaper, etc.

My bet is that the few users who would benefit from it (you need access to an iodine server on the other hand) and the few occasions where they would actually benefit from it, doesn’t make it worth being integrated in Tails.
