I’m unsure what this means exactly. Reassigning to bertagaz in case he knows better, hmm?

To be honest, I’m unsure too what this ticket is meaning.

I’m wondering if it is related to a discussion we had once, about getting rid of the need to use virt-manager to connect to the VNC console of the installed system to choose the right debian installer entry in the pxe menu (namely: Debian Installer (Wheezy ; amd64 + Preseed)). As this is the only useful one at the moment, this could be started automatically without needing a user interaction with the pxe menu.

OTOH, we might in the future want to have a Jessie installation option, so I’m unsure this ticket is really relevant.

Appart from that, I don’t see another explanation to this ticket.

OK, thanks for clarifying. Retitling accordingly. I’m in favour of setting a low priority on that one, please do it if you agree.

#8 Updated by BitingBird 2014-04-09 15:40:49

  • Target version set to Tails_2.0

  • Target version deleted (Tails_2.0)

This would rather be useful until we want to install VMs based on Jessie on lizard (without upgrading them from Wheezy), so I don’t think a 4.0 milestone is appropriate here.

Most of the time we have to support at least 2 different versions of Debian, so this can’t work in practice.
