I’m not sure if this is a commenting field or not, but if it were me I’d update this back to Normal - there are a lot of machines out there that are finicky about booting off USB still, and DVD users should have an easy way to persist data.
Problems I can identify:
- deciding which possible storage devices to support (for example, USB flash memory only; any attached USB; any attached disk)
- displaying which devices are available in an easy-to-understand manner based on which are supported
- remaining compatible with the FAT32/ExFAT ‘lowest common denominator’ by using a cryptoloop-type volume on devices which the user wishes to keep as FAT32/ExFAT? there are many 64GB microSD cards out there that a user might prefer to give 500MB of to an image file, rather than have it be always and forever “only a TAILS card.”
Best regards and thanks for working on TAILS.
