Description

Similarly to Bug #17434, the RM has to build many IUKs locally, which will take an increasingly long time as X grows in 4.X.

Until Bug #17434 is fixed, it will remain the limiting factor, so optimizing the local builds won’t give us much. But once Bug #17434 is fixed, this very ticket will become the limiting factor.

I’m not sure what we can do about this. Initial ideas:

  • Find a way to not block on this before making progress on the overall release process.
  • Ensure RMs have powerful trusted hardware to build these IUKs.
