More info provided by kibi on the duplicate issue (Bug #17595):

> Hi,
>
> The testing branch has been very quiet, with a little clarification for manual tests (commit:8dc36c70fb9b061cd71ca86e3904b16e9b385f48), and the upcoming upgrade to Tor Browser 9.0.9 (being built+tested right now), tracked in Bug #17594.
>
> The release we skipped doesn’t have many details:
> - Upstream: https://blog.torproject.org/new-release-tor-browser-908
> - MFSA: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2020-11/
>
> And I don’t have access to any draft for the upcoming one:

> So I don’t think we’ll have much more to say than what’s already said for 4.5~rc1.
>
> As a reminder, the announcement for 4.5 will be published on the Tor Blog as this is a major release.

Sorry for the duplicate…

I’ve just pushed the testing branch with an updated debian/changelog. Nothing much to see there, as expected.

Final images are built, the web/release-4.5 branch is up.

(Still awaiting confirmation from upstream we’re shipping Tor Browser 9.0.9-build1, though.)

  • Status changed from Confirmed to Needs Validation
  • Assignee changed from sajolida to cbrownstein

Release notes drafted in 164ce03e99.

The tweet:

Tails 4.5 is out: https://tails.boum.org/news/version_4.5/

It adds support for Secure Boot and fixes a critical vulnerability in Tor Browser.

And as a picture:

https://git.tails.boum.org/tails/plain/wiki/src/install/inc/screenshots/grub.png?h=web/release-4.5

It’s not super exciting but tweets with pictures get more attention, isn’t it?

Snap, I forgot to close this ticket in Tails_4.5, and I’ve closed the version already.

Can re-open/re-target/re-close if required, but that’s likely some waste of time (+ the switch to GitLab is around the corner)?
