Description

It would be useful to persistently set the ‘Night Light’ feature through the Dotfiles persistence mechanism. Testing indicates that settings for this are not saved to the .config/monitors.xml file, which is where I expected to find it. I couldn’t find any evidence of the setting being saved after examination of likely other hidden config files.

Unless this is a fingerprinting risk?

Indeed, this is not a per-monitor preference, but a global one, that is stored in dconf/gsettings. See Feature #5979 for another example and some more discussion. Feature #7074 and Bug #7148 are also about prefs stored there.

Ok, this is a broader issue with exposing persistence settings for various global features. I’ll be patient :)
