Description

As part of SecureDrop trainings, we ask journalists to create a diceware passphrase to lock their Tails persistent storage with. Because these passphrases are extremely long and journalists are using a completely new and alien operating system interface, mistakes while typing almost always happen. Before Tails 4, SecureDrop journalists could previously check the show password option to make sure the passphrase they entered was the correct one. Now they no longer have that feature, which, in my uasbility opinion, should exist absolutely anywhere it can.

@huertanix: Weird because I still see a “Show Password” checkbox when creating a Persistence from my Tails 4.0 (and it works).

See screenshot in attachment. We’re talking about the same screen, right?

Sorry, Tails 4.0 is giving you so much trouble! :(

Oops!

Then this is absolutely not on purpose and might come from the refactoring that segfault did on Tails Greeter for 4.0.

@segfault: Can you have a look?

I already fixed that on Bug #17177.
