Description

It might be a nice idea to point https://archive.softwareheritage.org/ to our relevant repositories on immerda.ch.

I think they archive software from Github automatically, and there are some clones of tails.git. I don’t know how up to date they are. But besides asking them to archive the “original” tails.git, I’m also thinking about other of our repositories, that could be useful to be archived.

This could work as an external backup and also fulfill the archive’s mission to preserve software as a cultural heritage.

It looks like it’s easy to ask for a copy: https://archive.softwareheritage.org/browse/origin/save/ and I could do that if others think it would be of use.

I just did that. They have a manual review process, so regardless of the outcome, it won’t be necessary to follow up on this. (If they accept, fine, it not, it’s not an issue either.)
