Description

a user reported that the sound stopped working since Tails 3.0

the sound card is a Realtek ALC882, and I found this error in the logs :

systemd-udevd[1082]: Process '/usr/sbin/alsactl -E HOME=/run/alsa restore 0' failed with exit code 99.

the user says that the sound is working fine with Linux Mint (LMDE)

I forwarded the whisperback report with this ticket number in the subject

The affected hardware is 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation NM10/ICH7 Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) with Realtek ALC882 chipset.

I think we see it in every WhisperBack report so I don’t think that’s related.

Not actionable and too late to add to known issues (no idea if current Tails is affected).
