I was going to document the workaround on https://tails.boum.org/support/known_issues/graphics/ but I realized I lack the full name and ID of that graphics card. It should be in the WhisperBack report, otherwise ask the user to send me the output of lspci -d::0300 -nn (referencing this ticket number). Thanks!

I’ve asked the user to try nomodeset. Likely it’s enough and will allow me to document a better workaround than troubleshooting mode.

The user replied: nomodeset works around the problem :)

The affected hardware is:
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller (0300): NVIDIA Corporation MCP89 (GeForce 320M) (10de:08a0) rev a2)
