Description

I propose that we use a signed but unlisted add-on to distribute our Tails Verification extension.

See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/Distribution

People would download the XPI from our website instead of from AMO. The benefits is that we don’t have to do through their employee review on submission and update.

So we need a dedicated Git repo and underlay to host these binaries, like we did for UUI.

Rejected!

Actually, seeing this and the update mechanism, it’s easier to have our extension on AMO. If it is not reviewed and authorized in time for 3.3 we will still be able to link to a self-distributed XPI from our website until the review is done.

The Chrome extension cannot be self-distributed so we’ll anyway have to deal with online stores when pushing new versions.
