One research question that came up today is whether we should support TrueCrypt volumes in addition to VeraCrypt volumes.

VeraCrypt itself supports a TrueCrypt “legacy mode”. Note that TrueCrypt hidden volumes have a bug that allows their presence to be revealed, so it might be a good idea to notify users to migrate to VeraCrypt if they are using anything older (perhaps by allowing read-only access only?).
