Description

Reported by user, I cannot try for lack of hardware:

Apparently, when trying to install with Tails Installer, if your laptop has eMMC internal storage like HP Stream, it appears as the default option to install Tails onto.

Maybe worth to confirm and fix, or at least put a warning message somewhere in the docs.

See Feature #10731#note-32 for details.

I believe this is caused by config/chroot_local-includes/etc/udev/rules.d/99-make-removable-devices-user-writable.rules, that’s needed to allow installing on SD cards (at least with some SD card readers). I’m not sure if we can fix the problem this ticket about without breaking SD card installations.

To check this we’ll need the output of udisksctl dump on the affected laptop. Please reassign to anonym once this is provided (he’s Foundations Team currently).

@emmapeel, please reopen if you can share the debugging info I’ve asked :)

Otherwise it’s not actionable ⇒ closing.
