Description

Tails 3.0~rc1 is a disaster. First of all because as others already subbmitted there is no ifconfig. So macchanger can go to trash. Second apt persist not working. Third is my recommendation to include UFW in the “stable” release.

I find out also when I have no firewall and I use ssh something somehow working on port on 65xxx when I “exit” from ssh. Disconnect from UNKNOWN … than the port 65xxx but that’s not enabled on my server. Installing UFW solve that problem because after deny (incoming), allow (outgoing), disabled (routed) “exit” from ssh just works fine without some bogus port..

There is also a file at /home/amnesia/.config/ called “Trolltech.conf” can you tell me what the fuck is that? I personnally don’t like to see .onion at APT and as a PGP keyserver because such promotion of services should and MUST not be allowed in TAILS.

You seems lucky because I live just a few hundread meter away from ReitSchule ( reitschule.ch) where you guys working on what exactly? What kind of connection you have with immerda.ch? far as I know reitschule where are the immerda.ch server are working extremly close with the Swiss government. This was the reason why I taken down for a while the server. If I see such things again in tails one by one I will take you down!

I hate those egoist assholes who spamming TAILS with they bullshit. Specially those german guys.. I don’t like at all how Tails 3.0 looking in this moment. Also I dont beleive that in CCC in germany, in Paris or in Bern so stupid tails developers are actually exist. I want Tails on Github and not on RiseUp because even if TAILS coming from Switzerland, France and Germany I beleive that it’s should be open before some idiot will spam the whole iso with they bullshit.

Do not offer macchanger my friend or persist anything because this Tails3.0 is useless against attacks. Fix what I told and AS DEFAULT deliver UFW for all future TAILS users. I’m strongly against any use of onion services without firewall in TAILS!

  • Status changed from New to Rejected

I’m rejecting this ticket because it mixes too many unrelated things in one single place, and there’s nothing actionable in its current state. See below my suggestions for moving forward on the topics you care about.

> First of all because as others already subbmitted there is no ifconfig.

This tool is deprecated: use ip instead, that can do the same as ifconfig, more, and better.

> So macchanger can go to trash.

I don’t understand what this has to do with ifconfig. Please report a bug if there’s an actual problem with the MAC spoofing feature. Thanks!

> Second apt persist not working.

It worked for me last time I tried. Please report a bug with enough info for us to debug this.

> Third is my recommendation to include UFW in the “stable” release.

Please read https://tails.boum.org/contribute/design/Tor_enforcement/Network_filter/ and then if you still feel something is amiss, start a discussion on a new, dedicated ticket (not mixed about many unrelated topics), explaining what you expect from a firewall in Tails.

> There is also a file at /home/amnesia/.config/ called “Trolltech.conf”

… that configures Qt. Note that Redmine is not the right place for general purpose user support questions.

> I personnally don’t like to see .onion at APT and as a PGP keyserver because such promotion of services should and MUST not be allowed in TAILS.

Please start a discussion about this on a dedicated ticket if you have good arguments to back your position.
