Description

A user got stuck on our website install instructions for

https://tails.boum.org/install/expert/usb/index.en.html

because an apt-get update was needed before installing the debian-keyring package.

Maybe we can add a `sudo apt update` before `sudo apt install debian-keyring`?

I can do it if people agrees…

Note that on Stretch (and possibly on Jessie too?), APT does an apt update everyday automatically, so in the vast majority of cases one can install packages without running it manually first. Also, it would be interesting to know why someone who needs to be explicitly told they should run apt update landed on an installation path for “experts”; I suspect they’ll hit other problems later along the way, due to using doc that’s not meant for them.

I fully agree with intrigeri and think we should spend our time elsewhere.
