after having booted, if there’s no network connection, then the UI for configuring Tor doesn’t come up. it’s just an empty desktop.

this behavior was very confusing, and in a way the confusion diverted my attention from setting up the wifi connection, which turned this into an unfortunate self-feeding loop.

It would be great if you can review the new Greeter that is being developed for Tails 3.0,
the way users will connect will be much clearer there.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the new Greteer (did I miss anything?).
I think it’s rather about Feature #10491 and friends.
