Description

I have tryed to install tails using speech, I am physical able to install the other way, but I like to test. The perch. I am using virtual box to insall it. I am not sure if it is a virtualbox problem or a distribution problem, it I’d not just tails that has the problem it is also Kali that the speech does not work in.

Could you try without using VirtualBox?

Can you please clarify what exact part of the installation process did not support the screen reader? Is that our website, or Tails Installer, or anything else?

It is the tails installer that does not work when you click “install with screen reader” It will install it but not speak at all.

I could but I do not want to mess up the computer I am using, I am sandboxing when I use virtualbox.

I’ve tested Tails Installer in Debian sid, on the GNOME Desktop, and Orca was able to read the interface (not to say that everything is properly labelled, but at least it does read stuff). Then I’ve tried Tails Installer in Tails 2.11, and observed the same behaviour in both cases. And then I’ve tried 3.0~beta3 and discovered that Orca is fully broken there (Bug #12389), but that’s not specific to Tails Installer.

So I have a doubt wrt. “install with screen reader”: we don’t provide any option phrased this way, so I am unsure we’re talking about the same thing. Let’s be extra explicit to make sure we’re on the same page: can you please point me to the exact web page that has the instructions you’re following, and to the exact section in it where you’re experiencing this problem?
