Description

We will ask someone else to host and maintain an XMPP server for us.

Our sysadmin team cannot deal with this atm, so we need a collective that hosts and maintain it for us, someone we trust will not use the metadata gathered from users.

Hi,

If we have to write a call, we can reuse Feature #11079, maybe adding explicit requirements on data and metadata, privacy of the conversations etc.

I was told laquadrature.net may be able to provide this kind of support, as they are considering installing their own IRC/XMPP. Ping me if you want i contact them.

We are currently hosting our XMPP support channel at Riseup. So I guess this is not required anymore? Or is it? If not, let’s close this and Bug #11702.

The current status does not meet the requirements we had in mind when we switched to XMPP. The plan was to better specify these requirements (Bug #11702) and then do this.
I’m happy if folks follow-up on this plan. If not, let’s forget about it.
