In Bug #11099 decided to use the newer version 0.9.7 of pinentry-gtk2 which allows pasting.

According to emmapeel, this is a regression and should be marked as elevated: https://labs.riseup.net/code/issues/9555#note-24
I’m actually not sure when the OpenPGP applet could last be used with a pinentry which allowed pasting. Do you know, emmapeel?

Also not sure if this is something that can make it into the minor release 2.3 or only the major 2.4. anonym?

While this ticket is created as a “Feature” it could be argued that it is a regression/bugfix, and those can enter minor releases like 2.3 given sufficient testing.
