Description

Reported by user, confirmed by me:

Steps to reproduce:

- Start Tails Jessie without Persistence

- Open Electrum

- You get a warning about losing everything if it is not configured the Persistence
- Electrum does not launch

It should open even when no Persistence, after the warning…

Presumably it’s a regression, I guess. anonym, wanna have a look?

Actually, this has nothing to do with persistence. It so happens that electrum 2.5.4 sneaked into Jessie backports before 2.0~beta1 was built, and it ended up in it. Since we don’t install python-qt4 without the branch for Bug #10754, there’s no Electrum GUI in 2.0~beta1, so no matter how you start it, you get the CLI version.

Rejecting this ticket in favour of Bug #10754.

And just to clarify: the backport is still too old, so we still need electrum from Stretch/Sid, as the branch for Bug #10754 installs.
