Description

Amongst the few people who configured the time zone, most of them searched by country name (France) instead of by city name (Paris) or time zone name (Eastern Europe). Adding a map would make this easier. That’s not a blocker since we don’t have the backend to handle custom time zones anyway.

There is such a map implemented in gnome-control-center (panels/datetime/cc-timezone-map.c and copied in gnome-initial-setup (gnome-initial-setup/pages/timezone/cc-timezone-map.c. There is an open bug in the GNOME Bugzilla about make timezonemap a system library. Pyanaconda uses gi.require_version("TimezoneMap", "1.0") in pyanaconda/ui/gui/spokes/datetime_spoke.py. It is packaged for fedora as libtimezonemap
